Custódio Rosa (José Custódio Rosa Filho), born in São Paulo in 1967, has been working since 1988 as a caricaturist, editorial cartoonist, illustrator, comic strip and graphic novel author, animator and writer.
He has collaborated with a wide range of Brazilian media outlets and institutions—including newspapers, magazines, television channels, trade unions, and advertising agencies—and has been published in 52 newspapers across Brazil.
With a collection of educational comic strips, he is one of the most widely licensed cartoonists in Brazilian educational publishing.
Custódio has authored eight books in Brazil, including children’s books, humor collections, and historical graphic biographies, as well as two books (Bello and Anita Garibaldi) published in Italy. His work has received several awards in the fields of editorial cartooning, animation, and graphic novels. In 2005, he was honored with the Award of Excellencefrom the National Press Club of Canada.
